Details

This study explores the effects of electric voltage on the burn rate of a highly conductive solid propellant. A solid pressed propellant consisting of ammonium perchlorate and aluminium in 1:1 (mass-basis) ratio, was subjected to a DC electric voltage. The objective is to determine whether electricity has any additional effects on the propellant sample other than raising its temperature. Therefore, this study explores the possibility of
controlling the burn rate of a solid propellant using electric voltage.
