Synthetic ester oil (SEO) is becoming a replacement for mineral oil in transformers due to its biodegradability and for its better insulation properties. The incipient discharge characteristics and the breakdown voltage are improved by uniform dispersion of silica nanoparticles in synthetic ester oil. The dielectric properties of the nano fluid be elaborated in the presentation.
