Details

The field of transition metal boron chemistry, comprising of higher nuclearity metallaborane clusters to
single boron complexes has undergone a renaissance over the past few decades. Subsequently,
complexes with a wide variety of coordination modes have been isolated and structurally characterized.
Since after the isolation of poly(pyrazolyl)borates, they have been extensively investigated in
organometallic chemistry and the applications of these scorpionate ligands, notably in catalysis and C-H
activation, have been further explored. One of the significant features of these ligand is the presence of
the BH2 or BH group, in which the B-H unit can interact with a metal through sigma B-H···[M] interaction.
Similarly, Borylene complexes, representing the most extensive subclass, have remained a focus of
intense research, particularly for their implication in the functionalization of unsaturated organic
substrates. In this context, borate complexes of silver have been synthesized. Further, reactivity of
manganese borate complexes with alkynes have been explored which led to the formation of η4-E
boratabutadiene complex of manganese. In addition, it has been found that nido-[(Cp*Rh)2B3H7] is a
good precursor for synthesizing triply briged boryene complexes.
