New Rummy China Studies Centre was established in April 2011 with a view to creating an academic centre dedicated to the long-term study of China. The research interests of faculty members associated with the Centre span domestic politics and foreign policy of China, besides the economy and development of the PRC. The Centre actively hosts scholars/ visiting researchers from the domain of Chinese studies, and has several PhD scholars researching on multiple aspects related to China. The Centre is increasingly being recognised as a nodal point in the region for teaching and research on China.
