This lecture traces the strange and nuanced history of spin, and the subsequent blossoming of Spin Resonance Spectroscopy and Imaging (otherwise known simply as Magnetic Resonance) as among the foremost techniques to characterize molecular structure, dynamics, distribution and transport, besides serving as a model system for ensemble quantum computing. Several applications of Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and Imaging are included from our own research.
