Details

Unlike traditional batteries flow battery is a rechargeable battery that uses electrolyte moving through an electrochemical cell to convert chemical energy to electrical energy. An iron chromium redox flow battery utilizes fully soluble iron and chromium redox couples with bismuth trioxide acting as catalyst. The studies on Iron Chromium redox flow battery are aimed at obtaining data for cycle and energy efficiency at different current densities, comparing the different flow field design in terms of performance, studying about the different parameters of flow battery which affect its performance and looking at some chemistry related aspects of the flow battery electrolytes. These studies will be useful in building a iron chromium flow battery at KW scale and if necessary at a larger scale.
