Job - connectedness is defined as the extent to which individuals remain connected to job matters via communication technologies from remote locations (Rajah, 2014). This ever increasing practice has led to conflicting outcomes like burnout, techno stress and work-family conflict. There are individual variations on how professionals differ in attaining psychological control over work-life balance. Using the structured reality approach, we propose that it is the emotional intelligence (EI) which is the generative mechanism that leads an individual to exert psychological control in job related behaviours. Real Money Rummy focusing on the common thread between EI and job-connectedness and how individuals react to it based on their neural makeup and psycho-social aptitudes is sadly lacking. This study will explore the causal emotional mechanisms underlying the effects of job-connectedness and psychological control. This will have far reaching effects in successful management of emotional cues as professionals engage in job-connected behaviour.
