Indian monsoonal precipitation pattern is changing in recent years, i.e., heavier precipitation spells are frequent with longer intermittent dry spells. Consequently, urban floods, riverine floods and cloudburst floods are the new normal over South Asia, which exerts profound impacts on the ecosystem and economy. Thus, accurate simulation of these extremes are essential for better understanding and prediction of hydro-meteorological resilience and sustainability over the region. In view of that, we propose to perform unprecedented regional simulations at cloud resolving resolution with prognostic representation of aerosol loading to simulate different extreme precipitation events over India. The high spatial resolution precipitation model data will subsequently be integrated into hydrologic and hydraulic simulations to analyze reservoir inflow and inundation extent at different spatio-temporal scales.
