There is no denying it: our world is run on mathematical ideas. Statistical models make suggestions on what to watch and how to live our life, number theoretic algorithms protect our digital information, Fourier analysis frees up space on our mobile phones, and so on. Come along and learn some of the maths that makes things happen behind the scenes. Importantly, I will also outline how you can be a successful mathematician in both industry and academia and talk about some of the amazing careers that await you out there.
